Abstract

Surfaceology is a novel framework to think about scattering amplitudes in a wide variety of gauge theories. Rather than breaking them up into Feynman diagrams, amplitudes are presented as integrals over the moduli spaces of Riemann surfaces and its tropicalization.
Over the last few years, this new perspective allowed to discover remarkable properties of amplitudes that are invisible from a graph-by-graph point of view, such as ``hidden zeroes'' and relations among seemingly different theories, and unlocked powerful new techniques for the analytical and numerical evaluation of integrands and amplitudes.
In this talk, I will review the basic foundations of Surfaceology and discuss some directions we can expect progress in the near future.
