Gerard Milburn is currently Professor at the University of Queensland, Deputy Director of the Centre for Quantum Computer Technology (CQCT), and Program Manager for Quantum Information Theory at CQCT. He is also an Australian Research Council Federation Fellow and Fellow of the American Physical Society. He has worked in the fields of quantum optics, quantum measurement and stochastic processes, atom optics, quantum chaos, mesoscopic electronics and most recently in quantum information and quantum computation. He has published over 200 papers in international journals, with over 6000 citations. He is also the author or co-author of several books, two of which seek to explain quantum phenomena and their potential for a general audience.
