Advanced Strings School 2015
Strings School 2015 is intended to introduce a wide range of basic background material for the latest developments in String theory, Quantum Field Theory and Gravity to senior graduate students and young postdocs. Another purpose of the School is to prepare young researchers for the Strings 2015 conference which will take place in the same venue immediately following the School, and bring about interactions and exchange of ideas among young physicists at a global level. The areas chosen for the School span most active areas of research in string theory over the last several years. The lectures will cover a selection of basic material as well as advanced topics at the forefront of current research. Leading physicists representing these areas of research will be giving lectures. The list of topics is given below:TopicsPrecision studies of black holesDynamical aspects of AdS/CFTHigher Spin AdS/CFTExact results in SUSY gauge theoriesEntanglement entropyC-theorems in various dimensionsHydrod...

GdR Dynamo 2015
Dynamo or self-induced magnetic field generation in nature and laboratory is a very important area of research in physics, astrophysics, geophysics and solar physics. The problem has remained largely unsolved for a century due to its nonlinear nature. This field is multidisciplinary with active involvement from theoreticians, experimentalists, and computational scientists. Considering the importance of this problem in various fields, a large number of complex large-scale simulations and experiments have been performed, which provide very valuable insights into dynamo mechanisms including dynamo reversals. Many simulations and several large-scale experiments have been planned for further exploration of dynamo processes.

Unruh-DeWitt detectors in RQI: from the basics to frontiers
In relativistic quantum information (RQI) we study quantum information in relativistic systems to obtain more insights to both quantum and gravitational physics on the one hand, and to find new ideas for quantum information processing on the other. One of the popular models in RQI is the Unruh-DeWitt (UD) detector theory, in which localized objects, called detectors, are coupled to and moving in relativistc quantum fields. In this mini-course I will discuss the UD detector theory in detail, mainly on the nonperturbative methods and their applications to RQI.
