Abstract

Abstract: In the standard black hole paradigm based on General Relativity, gravitational collapse generically leads to the formation of spacetime singularities. However, developments in quantum gravity and the rapid progress of observational astronomy have motivated the exploration of alternative compact objects, including regular black holes and black hole mimickers. These non-singular spacetimes replace the central singularity with a finite-core structure, offering a possible description of gravitational collapse beyond Einstein's theory. In this talk, I will review the theoretical foundations of regular black holes and related mimicker geometries, discuss their stability properties, and highlight their phenomenology and potential observational signatures.
